A University Question

My University Question






Time spend at university ended up in the search for the questions regarding freedom.









What type of a question is this? What about freedom? Why take 28 years to get the T-shirt to say: I may say today, 28 years later, each individual has got freedom?







Mostly it is in a view of society, what goes on around me, that bothered me and drove me to the question, but in all of this – where is God in all of this?







As when we take it God is everywhere and we also consider tragedies like ailments and accidents and pain, is that also from God? It is not always easy for any person to be confronted with God is the one who runs history as a person in much pain will only find his pain getting worse as what did such person do to God to get treated like that. Sinned? What does it mean to sin?







As a matter of fact, actually the answers to these conundrums are very easy.



Firstly – each and everyone has freedom to do whatever this person’s choices, own choices are.



You may encounter though, other people doing an individual harm. In South Africa such person’s can be held liable to pay up for such actions. That mean: When another person harmed you, they are in the wrong and you are not the one who sinned against God.







Secondly, when you sin against God, God’s penalties is not in this life. God will send someone who sinned against God to hell. Whatever level of hell God chooses for the act of “crime” or sin that was committed.







This is a principle that sometimes is difficult to grasp as some people distracts others. Make a kind of statement: to expose there is no freedom and God is the one who is in charge of the whole of history, in fact, of everything that happens and doesn’t happen. Such kind of actions is punishable as all kinds of characteristics which may not be that of who and what God are, are then addressed to be that of being the characteristics of God.







For one, a society has got crime for instance, we have known about people who stole from others since early history. When you then therefore want to put God in charge of the whole of all the events that has ever happened and in future, you may as well call God a criminal. This is blaspheme. God was not in charge of the events that happened in history – people received freedom to make their own choices as to what and how they wanted to express themselves in this life. God is surely not the one who encourage people to steal from each other.







To steal from God is a sin, when you steal from your neighbour you’ll face jail.







God is not two faced as to be in charge of history, all of it, as when people face sentencing or punishment for acts of stealing or being criminal and therefore those who get punished for their acts of crime can then say, but God is the one who is actually guilty. It is stupidity. As you can never say certain events was from God, the others not. That will only be the idiot who want to make the decisions on which events was from God and which not, it will at most only be his own decisions and free thinking that makes such an idiot of him as he is doing God no justice. As the rational in this kind of thinking is one of discrimination – a God with discriminating characteristics. Certain events belonged to God, others not or then, certain people’s actions then belonged to God, others not. Again, God may then just plainly be called a racist. Blaspheme! You are at risk for sinning against God when you ever want to label discrimination as a characteristic that ever belonged to God.







Haven’t we seen what disastrous effects, how much crimes against humanity have discrimination brought about? If you can find crime in crimes against humanity how, ever, can you think it is a characteristic God will encourage; to discriminate if it can be found a crime or do you want to call God a criminal? Should you discriminate against God you risk a sentence of being send to hell. Is there still anybody out there who would like to label those events to be from God? Dare not tread there. As surely as hell, it is blaspheme.



God is a loving God, yes, God is fair and whenever there was sinned against God, the punishment will not be in this life, the risk of sinning against God is punishable with the hell sentence.







An interesting thing I have heard in the past by even religious ministers is to pray from God to just have the crime stopped, to have the pain of mankind relieved.







When you pray for crime to be ended by God – you are asking God to interfere in the freedom that was given to others.







When you imply God to be the presence everywhere in history, guiding it, you are saying: history then shows God was present and God was in charge of the events that happened, and in your implication is then also in compact form, not righteous deeds are from God also and is therefore the characteristics of God also, as history had righteous and not righteous events that happened. It is only when you accept every person in command of his own choices, having the freedom of his own choices, when you are implying the righteousness of God and when you are out of danger of committing blaspheme.











My years of study was therefore – because of my being upset with the ways of the church’s interference in the state and therefore still trying to impose on God being the one who is in charge of the state by way of the Christian church in South Africa – limited to such extend that my future was on end having a career at the university. It was literally forced on me. According to me, no church of God may have this kind of influence in a state. How does such a church want to separate things that happens from being from God. Such a church will have to be a super church to never ever then come in the risk or danger of sinning against God by way of blaspheme – or by way of persuading/suggest to others, to believe God is in charge of history. How, if the church is telling a government on how to act, can it separate itself, as the church of God, from claiming God is in charge then of history. This may only cause serious dilemmas and blur of vision and therefore major thinking for an individual to distinguish his own position towards the characteristics of God and not get confused and be liable to be found guilty of blaspheme against God, only because the church, as the representative of God’s religion, is telling a nation, a state, on how to act.











It took me a long time to realize this. How even to their higher levels those individuals I shared my university years with, took their decision to block me from further studies and having a chance to follow a career at the university. As these kind of things are possible and they do happen.







My upset, the feeling of nearly blowing my top because of the accusation of a God who is to be part of another church influence in the state and whatever good it may seem like, you may never claim it to be from God or want the influence of the church in this matter to imply but God now suddenly did good. God is for nobody anymore a security risk as the church influenced the state to become not racial anymore and now God is a good God. For some years in South Africa God was a discriminating God but wow, God turned good, no more discrimination. How stupid small minded can the church get????







And I may not get upset at this kind of stupidities. I may not get upset when I’m feeling upset of such a mockery being made of God. Just keep out of it church was my only recommendation I wanted to advise them of. You are not God yourselves and you are insulting God. Keep out of the matters of the state if you really want to be a church of God at all. God is not governing history – so don’t you try and do it. A claim that God is governing history is dangerous and a risk – it is nothing less than blaspheme.



For being upset at all this, I was blocked from the studies I planned for my future. The plans I had to stay at university levels were shut down. Scattered in many pieces, nothing left of.







My grandfather and his brother both left this life in the time this punishment was to reach its full potential. As I knew, at the beginning of the year, that it was going to be over at end November/beginning December, with no other solution. There wasn’t money as I couldn’t even approach a bank or my parents or family as I had a loan already. The circumstances I was given as option by the university was of such nature – nobody would have given me any further money by way of loans.



I was short one subject to get my degree and therefore, should I want to carry on my studies at this full time university in a full time way where I spend the last three years with, I would have had to have financing to be full time at university for only one subject! And there was no other way to be found, no way they allowed me even to take that missing subject extra as it was just not possible according to the administration of that university.



This option effected further studies. Anyway, the message was clear - you are not welcome in the philosphical society, a la the university that were upset with my views. Still, I won't go out to other universities and try and collect "friends" to foe this university. My choice was simple. I took the simple life, yet completed my studies and got my degree anyway. Then eventually ended up in the Police Department being an officer serving my fellow human beings.



In the last months of my years on university, before it was to be over in full time mode, my grandfather’s one brother got ill. He died shortly afterwards and a few months after his departure, my grandfather died as well. Like the family they came from suffered from the same kind of treatments, just in different ways, they had some understanding of what has happened to me, to one of them, again...



My ideas were straight – I couldn’t bear the thoughts of God being called a criminal or racist or being made such a mockery of. How much more did the church want. Still in their nature to hit in hard ways as my grandfather and his family also were hit in ways because of ideas they challenged. The way the university hit me was hard.



Every person has got freedom. Implying God to be a racist or a criminal, you will find yourself at risk to be punishable for blaspheme and surely, God is fair and just and for sure, the ways God punish is by sending those who sinned against God to one of the hells where they will be forgotton.











There were a lot of upsetting things that happened after the last day was spend at the university full time and still, without any degree. Some took advantage of this situation, others just kept their tongue. Don’t say a word – you may get punished too.







I asked for a book with the works of NP van Wyk Louw for one of my birthdays and my grandmother gave me one and inside she asked me nicely to not let the others get to me. As if she understood that what I stood for were just, I only got punished for it by others who were afraid. Still, she believed in me.







Therefore, after 28 years, I had many experiences, but for certain there is a God.



For certain to deny other’s the freedom God gave each and every one as the highest fair and just thing within God’s power, is as stupid to think God is everywhere and anything that happens God can be blamed for. Not even on the higher selves of everyone is God doing anything else than giving each and everyone their freedom and the means to handle it.
